About Us

Pura Strong

Pura practices primarily in the areas of international commercial law and taxation. Her focus is on establishing multinational companies in Spain, as well as tax and estate planning.

Pura was born in Spain in 1966. Pura graduated with honors in 1988 at the Law School of the Universidad Complutense de Madrid and San Pablo CEU. Pura holds a Master's in corporate taxation at the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid, and four years of post-graduate studies in civil and commercial law. In 1996, Pura completed her studies at Harvard University with courses in business law and taxation.

Pura's professional experience began in Madrid as an attorney specializing in securities, financial institutions, banking law, and taxation. In New York, Pura joined Prudential to provide financial planning to individuals and corporations. Pura then worked at Yi, Tuan and Brunstein, a New York law firm focusing on corporate law and estate planning. Pura holds Series 6 and Series 63 NASDAQ licenses.

Teresa Vera

Teresa heads our Tenerife office. She is a native of the Canary Islands with extensive overseas experience, practicing in the field of immigration in the USA and running a corporate law firm in Venezuela. Most recently, she has worked in Tenerife in financial mediation and assessment.

Teresa received her law degree in 1993 from the Universidad Santa Maria in Caracas, Venezuela, and a Master's degree in International Commerce and Maritime Law in 1997 from the Escuela de Estudios Superiores de la Marina Mercante.

Lina LLorente

Lina is the director of our Barcelona office, and our real estate and land classification expert. Lina has over 20 years of experience in real estate developments and urban planning. Her career spans work in Chile, Madrid, Sevilla, and Barcelona.

Lina graduated from the Universidad Politécnica de Madrid in 1996 with a degree in Architecture. She is a member of El Colegio Oficial de Arquitectos de Sevilla since 2000, and La Sociedad de Tasaciones Arquitasa since 2005.

Pedro da Cruz

Pedro is senior associate in our Barcelona office. Besides native English, Pedro also speaks Portuguese and Spanish. Pedro was born in Luanda (Angola), raised in London, then made his move to Spain in 2007. Pedro hs been working at Strong Abogados since 2008 focusing on corporate, tax and compliance issues for international clients only, giving him a very special line of work and knowledge. Pedro is a lecturer in ESADE.

Pedro graduated from the University of Southampton, England with a Bachelors in Law.

Corina Cobo

Corina is a junior associate, and the first person clients will meet. Among other tasks, she fields the enquiries from clients. She is a bright, young professional. Her focus is corporate law and immigration. She was born in Venezuela and has lived in Miami, moving at age 10 with her family to Tenerife, where she went to Universidad de La Laguna law school. Corina is fluent in English and Spanish.

Herman Camargo

Herman is our software engineer, making our data flow as efficient as possible. Herman brought with him a high level of accounting knowledge that has been crucial in developing our custom software. He has over 15 years experience in software development.

Herman graduated from the Universidad Nueva Esparta in Caracas, Venezuela in 1992.

Begoña Rojas

Begoņa is our head accountant and Strong Abogados' controller. Begoņa has an extensive experience in the accounting departments of multinational companies such as Rahn Japan, banks such as Banesto, and as controller of construction companies. She loves detail and refuses to leave any loose ends. She actually enjoys reading the latest tax news and testing out our in-house software. Begoņa graduated in 2002 with a degree in Economics at Universidad de la Laguna. Begoņa is fluent in Spanish and English.

Beatriz Tornero

Beatriz is our accountant. She has more than 20 years' professional experience in accounting, taxes, and international trade. She has worked since incorporating at Strong Abogados only with international clients. Her areas of expertise are in European VAT tax compliance and in nonresident entities, as well as in putting the latest technologies at the clients' service. Beatriz holds a Bachelor in Business since 1991 and an MBA from Universidad San Pablo CEU in 2012. Beatriz is fluent in English and Spanish and has some French and German. She also happens to be a profesional jazz singer.

Tom Strong

Tom performs the roles of marketing and finance for Strong Abogados. He worked as a software engineer for twenty years before assuming this role in Strong Abogados. Companies he has worked for include John Hancock Insurance (Boston), Lumen Systems (Silicon Valley), Boston Treasury Systems (Boston), Ecteon (New York), and Banco Santander (Madrid).

Tom graduated from Haverford College (USA) in 1985 with a degree in mathematics.

Cesar Vera

Cesar works with Strong Abogados as a corporate mediation and arbitration lawyer. Cesar received a law degree from the University of Santa Maria in 1991. He did post-graduate studies at the University of La Laguna in 1996. He is a member of the Santa Cruz Bar since 1998. He has been active resolving corporate issues, helping investors and dealing with auctions, leading his own firm in Tenerife, Cesar Vera y Asociados.

Helena Maillo

Helena works of-counsel with Strong Abogados as a labour lawyer. Helena received her law degree from the University of Salamanca in 1992. She worked in the firm Garrigues Andersen before starting her own firm, Consilience.
